Matt Westbrook is a leadership coach and facilitator who helps senior leaders produce breakthrough results while staying connected to what makes those results worth having. His work is built on the idea that a leader’s well-being, relationships, and sense of purpose aren’t distractions from high performance — they’re the foundation of it.
Before coaching, Matt spent nearly a decade in enterprise software-as-a-service (SaaS) sales, where he gained a reputation for building trust quickly and helping organizations align around complex, large-scale business transformation. That work gave him a front-row seat to what human-centered leadership and psychological safety look like in practice — and what it costs when they’re missing. It also taught him something more personal: that the drive, perfectionism, and people-pleasing that fuel early career success eventually hit a ceiling. Powerful leadership requires something different.
As an openly gay coach, he has a particular commitment to leaders from underrepresented backgrounds — where the pressure to prove yourself runs deep, and where evolving beyond the patterns that got you here can be some of the most meaningful work a leader ever does.
Today, Matt holds a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential with the International Coaching Federation and trains and mentors the next generation of coaches and leaders. He works with senior leaders across tech, creative agencies, consultancies, and nonprofits. His clients span growth stages from founders in pursuit of seed funding, to leaders of Fortune 500 companies.
Matt is an avid traveler who prefers destinations that require some planning and a little nerve. He is a proud co-parent to Shaggy — an adopted pup from Puerto Rico. He lives in New York City with his partner Drew.
