Leadership Coach

Kim Andrews works with nonprofit and private sector leaders, often when they're stuck on a hard decision, managing tricky team dynamics, or feeling the weight and loneliness of being the one in charge.

She is warm, direct, and funny (just ask her); gifted at helping people get to the root of their challenge and clarify what to do next. Kim began her career in one of the most important places on Earth — the classroom. She joined Teach For America and taught sixth grade in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas before going on to design and lead initiatives that shaped teacher leadership and professional development across education nonprofits and large public school districts. Her focus throughout has been on building the kind of professional learning that truly changes what happens in classrooms, especially for the kids who need it most. Kim's 15 years of experience inside schools, school systems and national nonprofits revealed to her a curious pattern: organizations would have smart strategies and solid plans, and then struggle to execute. Leaders were isolated and overwhelmed; teams were stuck in toxic, recurring habits, and decisions weren't getting made. She became convinced that how people lead and work together determines whether or not the mission succeeds. This insight led her to coaching and to specialized training in Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching. A north-easterner by birth and at heart, Kim now lives in Columbia, SC where she misses winter but enjoys fair-weather mornings with a women's running group. She spends her time getting far too competitive on the tennis court and driving her three young kids all over town in a "cool" minivan.
